Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed the club are in "advanced talks" with Auxerre over the signing of Yaya Sanogo.The 20-year-old striker currently plays in Ligue 2, and has scored eight goals in his seven league appearances this season, grabbing four in one match against Laval.
The striker is expected to move on a free transfer in the summer with Wenger stating that it is not yet done, but confirming that talks are at an advanced stage and he is "very confident" a deal will be agreed.
However, when probed about the possibility of signing wantway Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, Wenger moved the focus of conversation towards Sunday's final day of the season.
"At the moment we have no interest in anybody. We only have one interest, which is Sunday's game," Wenger told reporters.
Reportedly, Arsenal and Chelsea have joined the likes of Paris Saint-Germain for the chase for Rooney, with the striker determined to leave Old Trafford.
